Florida approves a black bear hunt!

First time in almost 10 years, hunters in Florida can hunt black bears. About time. There are way too many of 'em running around.

Florida's black bear population is about 4,000 according to FWC.
The only reason that there seems to be a lot of them is unregulated habitat destruction caused by greedy land developers.

There will be 187 permits issued, and only one bear can be taken per permit.

Unchecked development maybe. But no development happens these days without approval from some planning or zoning board and gazillions of building permits.

Development is highly regulated, but quite rampant.

I am pro-hunting, if I ever have an opportunity I would.shoot a bear, eat the meat and have a rug made.
