I’m curious about where folks like to shoot. What's your favorite range, and what makes it stand out for you? Is it the outdoor scenery or the indoor facilities?

My favorite is Strickland range in Daytona Beach. I can shoot black powder and unmentionables. It's owned by the city. They treat the black powder shooters as equals to any shooter. The range officers know their stuff and treat everyone equally and do not think they are superior in any way. They help if there are issues with the firearms and can help, if not busy, shooters with aiming, targets, repairs, etc.

Wife and I shoot at the Dixon Wildlife Management Area in Georgia, a few miles south of Waycross.
A Georgia fishing or hunting license is all that's needed, there are no fees to shoot other than that. Run by the State of Georgia.

The closest decent range in Florida is run by FWC at the Osceola National Forest. That is free. It's also 65 miles one way from our farm.

I detest indoor ranges, and the big outdoor range in Jacksonville, Gateway, is expensive and snobbish. Not my cup of tea.

Actually, I can shoot in my back yard if I wish, but I don't like disturbing people.

I'm very fortunate in that I'm staying with family & they allowed me to put a 400yd shooting range in with a built in shooting bench along the back side of the property. So it's a short 300yd trip in the golf cart to get to my shooting bench.
I’m sooo glad that I don’t have to deal with public range BS, & having to pay to do it.
I have a neighbor coming over in an hr & I'm getting him shooting his muzzleloader that he hasn't touched in the last 15yrs. I shoot quite a bit, I do a lot of bullet testing & load development here.

I actually live about 10-15 min from the range at Osceola National Forest.
But I've never gone there to shoot at it. I have over 400yds of shooting range in the backyard, and I can & do, shoot deer, turkey, coyotes, bobcats & these damn armadillos out or the fam rm or front doors.

I've shot a ton of armadillos. Usually use a SBR 10/22 suppressed, but my last few I shot with a pellet rifle. It's actually louder than my 10/22.

Range I go to is Bunnell Range. Far from perfect, but it's 10 miles from home, and I don't have to drive down miles of dirt/sand road.

Last armadillo from a few weeks ago I shot from my front door. For the record I shut the door before it started flopping around.

I drive out (60 mi R/T) to "Triple N Ranch" about midway to Melbourne. 50ft/25yd pistol ranges, 100/200 yd rifle ranges. Run by FWC, decent RSO's and very safe (1 minor whoops since 2017). Firing line/ benches not all shot up like most public ranges . $12.90/ day unless you want to shoot clays which are about $50/hundred+$cart fee.

Thanks for the video.
Now it’s a “ good armadillo “!
Them lil bastards can really make a mess out of your property quick, fast, & in a hurry. I put a round through every one I see, then use them for predator bait

Does anyone know of a 800-1000yd shooting range in north Florida?
I have a cpl longrange smokeless muzzleloaders & I only have a 400yd shooting range in the backyard. I just found out who owns the property adjacent to my shooting range & it just so happens that he has a new inline muzzleloader that he knows nothing about & needs some help with it. I’m the guy to go to for that. I’m hoping he will let me roll the 4’ wire fence back & use a 10’ wide path across the back of that 200yds to set up a table & chair to shoot from there. Increasing my range to 600yds. I’m going to have the neighbor that I’m currently helping him get his TC Encore dialed in, & knows that guy to bring him over one day & I’ll help him with his muzzleloader & just hope that he will be cool With letting me do that.
But I’d love to take these smokeless muzzleloaders out to 1000yds.

I go to a small outdoor range about 30 minutes north of my home in northwest FL. Been going there twice a week for about 10 years now. Nothing really special about the range, 12 lanes on the pistol range with stalls that are covered and with fans that make it bearable this time of year. 100 yard rifle range and some shotgun stations, neither that I really use... The things I like about it are the two guys (one is a gunsmith) that work there, the owner, and my buddies that meet there to shoot on the pistol range and yack with me each week. I was there this morning and will go again tomorrow morning. Being retired is a wonderful thing.

Here’s a cpl pics of my home shooting range & bench. It’s nuthin fancy. It’s 10yds wide by 450yds long. From my bench to the sand bank bullet stop it’s 420yds. I have a 12” steel gong hangin at 400yds.
I just bought 100) 50lb sandbags to put another backstop behind my 200yd target stand. My target guns & longrange hunting guns are zeroed at 200yds.
I’ve got a stationary target 100 & 200, movable targets for inside 100 & another movable target at 300yds.
Hopefully in the very near future I’ll be able to use a lil piece of the neighbors property to increase my range to 600yds.
Fingers crossed!

I have access to a private range that is literally five minutes from my front door. I can shoot anywhere from 100 yards to up close, so it's just about a perfect situation.
That’s sweet!
Nuthin better than having a private shooting range.
100yds is great for sighting in & plenty for handguns & rimfire fun.
