I've got a spot on my face I've put off way to long due to unimaginable needle phobia... yeah it's lame, but true!

Heard they can use some kinda numbing stuff on you before the lidocaine shots.

Had mass ear infections when I was a little kid and had to get penicillin shots in the hip a lot, guessing that's where the phobia came from. Got my tonsils out the day Kennedy got shot and never had an ear ache since.

Yes, Believe it or not the Doctors name was Larry. Let's see, Larry, Moh .... Anyway, Mine was for a Basil cell on my nose. The numbing up shots into the tip of my nose. were the worst I have ever felt. Once that was over the doctor would cut a little off , take it to the microscope check for cancer cells, come back cut a little more, check it until it was clean. Mine took three tries. I have a largest nose anyway and with the bandage, I looked like WC Fields, Ahhhh yes... Not sure your particulars but you'll be fine,.

I was hoping the shots got better over time. When I was 17 a friend was playing in the band at a biker bar in Ripely Indiana, we went to party and hang out. Damn bar fight broke out and as we were trying to get outside someone stabbed me in the back. I thought someone had just hit my back till a friend said my shirt was dripping blood. They gave me 3 shots for 5 stitches that couldn't have hurt more than the shots.

I heard a Mohs deal takes around 4 hours, cut a little and check the cells, then cut a little more till it's clean.

Did you have to go back 3 times, or did they just have to check 3 times?

My stepdad had it done. I think it looks worse, and packing your patience is the big thing.
He never wore sun screen as a kid, and dude has like very light skin. He turned out fine, but is a big advocate for sun screen, hats, and sun shirts now.

Best of luck!

Three cuts one visit. Free nose job that I needed. Those shots on the tip of the nose. I think the location added to the pain factor.

I had a MOHS procedure just over 2 months ago for a basil cell carcinoma on my cheek near my ear. The area they took was fairly large, my guess is 1x2 cm... They only had to do 1 layer and I was done in a little over an hour. It really wasn't a big deal. Took probably 5 weeks to heal to the point I didn't need to cover it. Wasn't pretty when they first did it, but now it looks fine. It's nothing to worry about. Get it done.

I had a squamous cell carcinoma taken off the back of my right leg calf muscle by Mohs surgery in 2020. Doctor got it all the first try. Just local painkiller injected at the sight of the procedure. The spot was about the diameter of a quarter.

I was in and out in about two hours.

When the doctor says it's only going to hurt a little bit he is talking about his thumb on the syringe, not the injection site.

My wife had Mohs surgery on the tip of her nose, she says it was not bad, but be sure to have aplastic Surgeon do the stitching
I had on on my arm...looks like I have been in a knife fight,,,buy hey it's not my face  Not bad just DON"T WATCH

Needles in the face aren't that bad.... I had to have an eye surgery and they put a needle in under my eye socket and up behind my eye. They told me not to move:oops:. the lidocaine in my cheek just below the socket wasn't fun but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You'll be fine.
