just got a 10/22! where to start?

hey folks, just picked up my first 10/22, and wow, I totally get why everyone raves about these rifles! it shoots great right outta the box, but man, the customization options are wild.

trying to take it easy on mods at first, but I wanna make it mine over time. what's the first upgrade or mod you did that made a real difference? or maybe just made it more fun to shoot? looking for some advice here, thanks!

Next step would be a replacement barrel, preferably one with a Bentz chamber.

Other than that, I'm quite fond of Boyd's Hardwood or Solid Walnut Stocks.

I see that Boyds is shut down for the 4th of July weekend, so I didn't attempt to provide a link.

for everyday plinking, you don't really need to do much to a 10/22 that is already shooting fine. Maybe a BX Ruger trigger group, a better mag release and a rubber bolt stop/buffer pin would help, and are not expensive.

I def picked up about 6 higher capacity mags, cause why not.

I'm taking it out this weekend, hopefully for some fun plinking.

Is it cost effective to just purchase a better model at a higher price or purchasing the lower model & upgrading?
