None of my K frames are short barrel, however I do have a short 686 (L frame) which is really easy to shoot .357. I also have a short Ruger Security Six which also is accurate and comfortable, as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I have rather large hands, so I look for a larger grip.
If you're looking for investment value I'd go with the K frame; for durability pick whichever is most comfortable in your hand.
