I was able to go hunting 2 days of my 3 day hunt, at Jumper Creek WMA. I saw 9 doe and 2 spotted fawns. No bucks at all.
I usually get Croom or Half Moon.
Did any of y'all get ya Deer over muzzleloading season?

What I noticed is getting before dawn is where most bucks usually appear. Even if I don’t tag a deer every time, I still love being out there, watching the deer, especially the fawns and does. It really helps me figure out the bucks for my future hunts.

Seeing 9 does and 2 fawns is a good sign of movement in the area, even if the bucks are laying low. I’ve had a couple of hunts at Jumper Creek and experienced the same but the bucks seem to disappear when the pressure is on.

In my area the 1st muzzleloader season isn't until 12/6-7/25; however, I am currently seeing a lot of movement, both buck & doe. I attribute this to local changing conditions - temperatures beginning to drop, acorns falling, summer/fall food supplies disappearing, etc. Our rifle season opens for 4 days starting on Thanksgiving (11/27/25 - 11/30/25) and I will continue to monitor the deer as we approach the season. Good luck to all.

Thanks!
Good luck to you too Dave.
Right now I'll have to wait for the first 9 day quota hunts to end. I have 2 WMAs close to me that I will be able to hunt. Both of which get hunted hard. But ya never know, a late season buck may just give me that chance.
