She's also a much better "shot" than I am (that's embarrasing to say)

Wife hasn't slept in the same room with me for 30 years.

This would be most great, but I wonder what a jury would think about having it as a bedside gun?

Something to think about.

Many years ago, when I was in high school, my next door neighbor worked at the county jail. He called me over one day and showed me a photograph. He was looking very very badass, holding a Thompson. Not even a submachine gun, just the semi-automatic with the 16 inch barrel.

Someone had used it in a crime, and the user was in the county lockup while the gun was in evidence. Every employee at the jail have their picture taken with that gun. Because it was cool.

So if you use something that is really cool to shoot somebody, well since you shot somebody it's going to be an evidence until they decide whether you committed crime or not. And if it is really cool, all the cops are going to want to play with it.

And if it's NFA - a machine gun or something with a can, or a sawed-off shotgun - every cop in three counties is going to come over and want to play with it. And when you get your gun back it is going to be covered with rusty fingerprints.

So while I have got some really cool stuff

There ain't no way I would use it to protect my home. I got too much money tied up in them for them to get all rusty and finger banged in the police evidence locker.
