My home forum had this & it has dwindled to an unfortunate hault.
What I'm proposing is we use 1 universal target ( I have them to give you to copy & make your own ) and we shoot at our home, or preferred range, at 100yds.
Simply use your cell phone to take a GOOD CLEAR PIC of your target & post it in this thread that will be dedicated to only "postal match" related posts. NOTHING ELSE!
If theres enough interest in doing this at 200 & 300yds, HELL YESSS I hope that is the case, we'll do matches for those distances too.
I'm going to be shooting a .30 & I'd love to see a big group of .30 shooters participate in this postal match, especially at 300yds.
We'll need to have a judge & 2 other non bias members to inspect targets & make the scoring call & their decision is what it will be.
I'd like to see 1 or 2 guys with competitive benchrest shooting ( on any level ) to step up & be these judges.
5 shot groups - 10 shot groups, I am open to either one.
Submit 1 target entry per month, per category. I'm really hoping that this gets some .30 guys that want to do this at 200 & 300yds. I can shoot out to 400+ here.
But I don't expect too many guys to have that kind of range access.
I would think that keeping calibers together to shoot on the same level, maybe open it up to some variables, to some degree? I am open to hear all input & suggestions.

We can have sub categories in - optics class & open/iron/peep sights class as well.
If anyone else besides me is into .45 inline or smokeless muzzleloaders & wants to have a place for them, I'd be elated!
I've edited this to add: I totally forgot to include the handgun shooters for this. I'm sorry fellers.
We should have 25 or 30yd handgun class too.... one for wheel guns & one for autos? Or just 1 handgun class & 1 distance, & shoot what you have. I'm cool with that too.
I do not want to " complicate a cheese sammich " here.
This should be fun for all & not a stressful " why the F am I doing this "?
Daggoneit! another afterthought....another edit;
I know that there are some " traditional muzzleloader enthusiasts in here, & I do not want to exclude them from having a place in this postal match too.
So, a Traditional sidelock category ( caliber & projectile are irrelevant ) and you want to have 100yd iron/peep sights only, I would absolutely love to have that too.
This might exclude the smooth bore & PRB shooters bc they will not be able to compete at 100yds with conical or modern bullet shooters in faster twist barrels. That can be open for discussion & determined by the amount of guys that want a category for those kinds of muzzleloaders & at a shorter distance, like at 50yds.
I want this to be fun, but I want it to challenge our shooting & get us shooting the guns that we love to shoot - more.
