Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to the world of guns and I'm still getting the hang of the basics. Excited to soak up knowledge from y'all. If you could go back to when you first started, what's one thing you wish you had known? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

When I was 7yrs old I was given a Savage break action .410. I spent the next year between my father & grandpa getting SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY drilled into my head. This is not a toy! It is a tool! And then, basic shooting skills.
ALWAYS be mindful of having my muzzle pointed in a safe direction & never sweep someone with the muzzle.
ALWAYS be mindful of not just what I’m shouting at, but what’s behind what I’m shouting at. I am the only one responsible for where my bullet ends up!
AKWAYS retrieved what I shoot, regardless of what it takes.
Never kill anything I don’t intend to eat. Never waste anything.
Always respect everything & everyone in the woods.

We all start somewhere, and believe me, this is a great spot to get the hang of things. There are so many friendly folks here who are more than willing to share their experiences and tips. I can’t wait to hear your questions and see how you’re growing along the way!
