Vortex Crossfire II V-brite MOA Reticle we have them or the Diamondback vortex on all our hunting rifles
They certainly are a good option for what you want & in your budget. Another excellent point is that if there ever is a prob with your Vortex scope, their cust srv & warranty is second to none.I run the Vortex Crossfire II on my hunting rifles too, I love that V-brite MOA reticle. It makes quick shots way easier, zero holds tight, and it's tough enough for all the field abuse
Take a really good look at the Arken line too. My gun builder is a distributor for Arken & he had me take a very in-depth look at Arken, not just bc he can afford 5k optics on all of his guns, hes still bought 5 of them himself & he loves them. Thats saying a heck of a lot when a world class pro shooter that can have any dozen of the most expensive scopes money can buy, & he has a bunch of those, but he has bought 5 or 6 of them.I'm looking for a reliable scope for deer season that stays under $300. Any suggestions that have good clarity and can hold zero after a few trips to the field?
Thanks for the tip, somehow I've never heard of them.Take a really good look at the Arken line too. So I did just that. I like champagne optics of a beer budget, so I get all kinda of educated before I am buying something. Scopes especially.
I just had a prototype long range target gun built & I bought an Arken EP5 to put on it.
A cpl wks ago a cpl friends came over & we were at my shooting range & one of them had an Arken EP4. It was absolutely impressive & for only 335.00
You're welcome. Thanks for the tip, somehow I've never heard of them.
I just bought my 11 year old his first new hunting rifle, ruger american ranch rifle in 308 win. the shop had a riton primal 4-16 with bdc reticle, I am impressed with the extreme clarity and subtention equity for the price. warranty is the same as vortex, unlimited regardless whomever bought it new (according to riton customer service ) $199.00 out the door with the florida tax free deal going onI'm looking for a reliable scope for deer season that stays under $300. Good luck on your search good sir.....
Thank you for the compliment. Hes been hunting since he was five, he killed a hog on my buddies orange farm/orchard with a 9mm 1911 (sitting on my lap of course) at 15 yards. I bought him a bow that same year to practice in the yard, we since moved to north florida and live on a farm where we can hunt private. he now shoots a bear 55 pound compound bow and killed his first doe with that bow 2 years ago. His first rifle is a custom rem 700 300 blk I built him (16 inch 5r AAC barrel) the rifle started out as a 223,he has killed several deer since. last year I taught him to reload the 300 blk and he loaded the 125 grain sierra TMK (gamechanger) and killed a doe at 54 yards with his reliads at 10byears old. I come from a family of true hillbillies where hunting and fishing was a way of life, so I teach him everything to survive. the ruger I bought him this year is only his first NEW firearm, the value of the gen 2 ruger is hard to beat for the price, I will add a timney adjustable trigger and a bell and Carlson stock later, the 308 is a good all around hunting cartridge and he will be reloading tomorrow. I have several hundred 165 grain sierra TMK that should work well, ill keep you posted. long reply lol I dont stop bragging about my boy, he is a gift and of course I am a very proud dadI love it, you started your son on a real rifle!
I don't think it's a great idea to start a kid hunting with a .410 shotgun and a .223 rifle. Sure they don't kick, but they probably won't kill anything either…![]()
