Binary Triggers Legal Or Nah?

I've been trying to find out if binary triggers are legal in Florida. Just moved here a couple of months ago and honestly, getting a hang of all the laws has been a bit overwhelming. I keep hearing mixed things from folks at the range. Some say they're cool to use, while others act like it's a big gray area (related to the school shooting). I'd hate to buy one and then find out I'm breaking the law. Does anyone here have firsthand experience with this? Any advice would be super helpful!

It is a gray area. They are legal but not all place will allow you to shoot them in binary. I bought both Franklin armory and fostech triggers. I prefer the Franklin over the fostech. I had fun for a short time and then didn't use it very often. Mine now stays in Georgia where I use it outside of deer season to shoot pigs.

I've never seen a company that will ship FRT, Binary's, or a Super Safety to Florida. I wouldn't mind have one or three.

FRTs:

• Florida Statute 790.222 bans devices that simulate automatic fire or increase the rate of fire beyond what's possible unassisted.
  

• The ATF has stated that some FRTs are considered machine guns under federal law.
  
  
• Possessing or selling FRTs in Florida carries legal risks, even if a specific model hasn't been specifically prohibited.
  

Binary Triggers:

• Binary triggers fire on both trigger pull and release, effectively doubling the rate of fire compared to a standard semi-automatic trigger.
  

• They are generally legal under federal law as long as they don't classify the firearm as a machine gun.
  
  
• In Florida, modifying a firearm with a binary trigger is generally legal as long as the firearm itself is legal and the modification doesn't violate any laws.
  

Super Safeties:

• Super safeties are accessories that enhance safety features of a firearm.
  

• If the "super safety" doesn't increase the rate of fire or function as a bump stock, it is likely legal in Florida.

Binary triggers are banned or restricted in several states. Currently, the list includes California, Connecticut, Delaware (rifles only), Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington D.C. Minnesota recently banned binary triggers, making possession a felony.
