Budget 5.56 Target Rifle Set Up

Since I bought a 5.56 silencer that I've been un patiently waiting on since Jan 8th, I thought it would be a good idea to get a bolt action 5.56 rifle to go along with the 7 AR's I have to use it on.

Today I bought a Ruger American II Patrol rifle, a Vortex Venom 3-15x44 scope, and a pair of Vortex Pro 34mm rings.

I know it's all budget stuff...except maybe the rings. Still can I expect pretty good accuracy at, at least 100 yards? I'll put my Harris bipod on it.

I would expect at least 1 inch groups at 100 yards with decent ammo.

I've been very surprised in the past, some of my rifles love the cheapest ammo.🤣
 
Shooting at 100 yards, you’re definitely gonna see some great groupings. If you load it with some decent 69gr or 77gr rounds, it might just blow your mind. Even the cheaper 55gr stuff will keep you grinning. And with a Harris bipod in front, you’re already set up better than a lot of people at the range. Just wait until that suppressor is finally ready.... That little 5.56 bolt gun is going to be fun. It’s quiet, soft, and super easy to handle.
 
I have a Mossberg Thunder Ranch bolt action. It has a 5 X 25 Blackhound Scope. Groups great at 100-200 yards. Find that 77Grain works best past 200 55 seem to be fine at 100-200
