When you're out in the field, do you trust a solid fixed blade or a practical folding knife for processing game and dealing with rough terrain? I’m eager to hear your stories!
I always stick with a fixed blade for any serious work. If I’m breaking down a hog or a deer, using a folder is just asking for trouble. I’ve got a simple 4" drop point knife that does the job.
I use both, most of the time a use a Knives of Alaska semi flex boning. When I'm removing the hide I use a Outdoor edge to get under the hide and cut from the inside out. Both are easy to throw in a pack. If I'm doing nothing more than a field dressing I'll use a folder.
