If you have a CCW there is no waiting period in Florida. Second thing my wife and I moved from MD in 2021 to Florida. In MD you have to have a Handgun Qualification License to purchase a handgun. Even though the person has had to do training to get the HQL, get finger printed, have background check performed by MD State Police the waiting period to pick up the firearm is still 8 days. I also have a wear and carry permit for MD as a non resident now but the waiting period was 8 days even though I had been through a separate background check and separate fingerprint and was able to show my instructor credentials. So three days ain't that bad.

Morally, an hour is bad, technically speaking. While compared to MD FL looks like the wild wild west, doesn't mean it can't be tweaked.
In many other states, it's just walk in, do the paperwork, if approved, walk out.

I live in Florida since 2021. Prosecuting criminals always seemed to be the least of there concerns. Montgomery County and Price Georges County the ink wasn't even dry on the police officers paper work and the perps were back out on the street. Baltimore City and County were were even worse. Went to pick up a friend in Baltimore long time ago drug dealers were lining route 40 pushing drugs and County and City Police would keep driving by and not do anything.
