I see I an totally outnumbered here . A lot of AR's here . But I still love Ruger no 1's Just the feel of quality Wood and metal joined in a work of art, but alas beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Right not I have 7 No1's and will never stop looking. Oh b y the way I am 86 yrs of ag so I better start looking a little quicker

You're absolutely right about the beauty of wood and real steel. I have a Stainless Ruger that doesn't have a Mark designation and a Blue Mark I Target, plus assorted other Ruger .22s.
Hang in there and keep looking for more Mark Is.
 
I too, prefer wood/metal and have always liked the Ruger No. 1. My go to hunting rifle for the past 30 years has been this No. 1-A in 7x57 Mauser.
