Amateur (Ham) Radio. I was first licensed back in the 70's and and have held an Extra Class License for the last 25 yrs with the the call sign of KB4ET. I was part of the team that broke the World Record for an annual world wide contest from the Island of St. Kits using the call sign VP2KC. Also, I have worked another ham operator in every country in the world. During hurricanes, I have used my station as an emergency communication station passing essential traffic for County and State Agencies. As with shooting, hunting and reloading this is something that I can do without outside help, and at my age (86) this is important. Also, I have made many lasting friends through both hobbies

My hobby is the study of military history, I've been doing it for almost 70 years now.
Since it's such a wide field i specialize in World War 2. Although I do branch out occasionally into the Revolution, Civil War, and WWI. The Korean War just doesn't "grab" me and Vietnam is too close to home.

I have an extensive library and read several hours a day. We don't watch TV, wife hates it and I'd rather read.
