Winter safety tips

Discussions around seasonal issues like this can really highlight some key reminders. What winter firearm safety habits do you believe every member should be aware of?

I have to laugh...my 1st reaction to your question was "Winter? We live in Florida!” ;-)

I live in Florida and the wx forecast for tonight = 27 deg. and 20 deg. tomorrow night - Throw in the humidity factor and that's winter in anybody's book!! The question is: "What winter firearm safety habits" - Well, deer season is still open and a few days left for doves, so while sitting motionless and waiting for your game of choice to appear your fingers tend to grow numb; therefore, maybe should keep fingers off of the trigger until game of choice is in the crosshairs in-order to avoid accidental firing. BTW - It snowed here last week and more forecast next week!!

Haha people living here can totally skip the “winter” drama. That’s why I decided to ask! What feels like a non-issue in one state can turn into a real headache up north. Cold weather can do some odd things to guns, gear and even how we handle them, so it’s always helpful for the community to share insights this time of year.

That’s why I enjoy discussing these seasonal topics. A light cold snap can really change how you handle a firearm, and it’s important for everyone to consider those small details before they turn into bigger problems.
