What Is Your Favorite Shooting Range?

Does anyone know of a 800-1000yd shooting range in north Florida?
I have a cpl longrange smokeless muzzleloaders & I only have a 400yd shooting range in the backyard. I just found out who owns the property adjacent to my shooting range & it just so happens that he has a new inline muzzleloader that he knows nothing about & needs some help with it. I'm the guy to go to for that. I'm hoping he will let me roll the 4' wire fence back & use a 10' wide path across the back of that 200yds to set up a table & chair to shoot from there. Increasing my range to 600yds. I'm going to have the neighbor that I'm currently helping him get his TC Encore dialed in, & knows that guy to bring him over one day & I'll help him with his muzzleloader & just hope that he will be cool With letting me do that.
But I'd love to take these smokeless muzzleloaders out to 1000yds.

I wish I could shoot well enough to use a 500yd range.🤣
It just takes practice. I’ve never shot that far before, not even close really.
I’m perfectly capable of putting a good dope chart together at the 400yds I have & using that to get me on target at 1000yds

I bet you can. Aim small miss small. I hadn't shot over 300 yards since retiring from the Army. With a little help from Hornady 168 gn ELD-M ammo and their ballistic app i was on target at 700 yards my first shot with my Bergara .308. I bet you can also.

Maybe it's because of the old crap rifles I shoot? 🤔
That might have something to do with it…

Home club is www.pmrpc.com Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club in Palm Bay. Lots of weekend competitions and during the weekdays, the range is deserted. Includes a 200,300 and 600 yard high power range using electronic targets (Silver Mountain and converting to SHOTMARKER). Check the club website for details. Non members welcome to shoot competitions......

I'm curious about where folks like to shoot. What's your favorite range, and what makes it stand out for you? Is it the outdoor scenery or the indoor facilities?
The trees, the lovely florida sand, privacy, 200 and 25 yard shooting lanes, steel targets, paper targets, even a mannequin! My back yard ! Come shoot and smoke some pork

I pay by the year to go to Bunnell Range. Far from perfect, but I don't have to drive 6 or 7 miles down a dirt road to get to it. I'm kinda funny about keeping my truck clean.

They have a nice pistol range area where you can crank your targets out to 25 yards, but the rifle section is 100 yards max.

Wife and I shoot at the Dixon Wildlife Management Area in Georgia, a few miles south of Waycross.
A Georgia fishing or hunting license is all that's needed, there are no fees to shoot other than that. Run by the State of Georgia.

The closest decent range in Florida is run by FWC at the Osceola National Forest. That is free. It's also 65 miles one way from our farm.

I detest indoor ranges, and the big outdoor range in Jacksonville, Gateway, is expensive and snobbish. Not my cup of tea.

Actually, I can shoot in my back yard if I wish, but I don't like disturbing people.
I live in the NE corner of Florida and have been to the Dixon range quite a few times. It's a nice range, the only issue is the long dirt road you have to travel that really gets muddy in our rainy season. At times it can get impassable if you don't have 4WD.
A range I have started using is the Two Rivers range run by Camden County, Georgia just opened a couple years ago. Has a 25 yard pistol/rimfire range and a 12 position rifle range at 50/100/200 yards that uses electronic targets so you don't have to walk down range to see your hits. It's very well managed and the Range Masters are always friendly and helpful.

There are a couple of Commercial Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun ranges located 30 to 50 miles (1 way) from me, but several years ago I built a 200 yd range on my own property. I have target holders at 50/100/200 yds, with wind indicators at each. I move the 50 yd target holder up to 25 yd for pistols. Also, I have been reloading since the late 1960's, so I do a LOT of shooting. No matter if out your back door or 50 up/down the road a good shooting range is essential to one's shooting habit.

Always been a dream of mine to walk out on a covered back deck of my house to my own range. I'd be happy with just 100 yards.
I understand. I’ve been fortunate enough to have lived in a few places where I could shoot out of a door or window, even fish right out of my living room window & launch a boat from my backyard. But having my own 400+yd shooting range in the backyard with a built in shooting bench is just awesome.
I shoot a lot!

I had FPL put a streetlight on the pole next to my driveway, and keep the screen out of my bedroom window for hunting reasons. My back yard is lite well too. It would be frowned upon if caught thou!

Awesome!
LET THEM FROWN I say!
No armadillo is safe if I see it.
There are a few on the property but I haven’t caught them in enough light to shoot them & I gave no night shooting gear.
I really need to start thinking out the coyotes & bobcats around me.
I have a full custom .30 being built - just for that.

I've shot great multitudes of them. Couple years ago I shot one in the front yard. It was a thru and thru shot from CCI SV 22. It ran across the street towards the woods leaving a massive blood trial from my driveway all the way across the street.

So I'm out there around 0300 trying to rinse it off, but failed. Then I saw it in the swale across the street. Went to get my shovel to toss it back in the woods for the buzzards. After I was finished I remembered my new next door neighbor had a ADT security system put in with cameras on all 4 corners of her house. We don't not get along, but don't really get along if that makes since. She's a doctor that moved here from Miami.

I was in panic mode then, shooting in city limits isn't too cool. Then I had a great idea, and ordered a 22 caliber Gamo pellet rifle from Amazon that I got the next day. I know I'd still probably get a smack on the hand for killing one, but not like with my custom 10/22 armadillo rifle. I've actually used it on the last 2 I killed. It does a great job, but is louder than the 10/22.

Armadillo rifle.

This one I took out from my front door with the pellet rifle. For the record it didn't start flopping around till after I shut the door.
