Anyone have experience with the Extar EP9 "AR9 pistol”? The reviews I've seen look really good and it's hard to argue with the sub-$500 price point. 24 inches long and weighs 4 pounds. Takes Glock magazines. I just ordered one. So, we shall see...

It arrived today. My gunsmith buddy at the range made fun of me for buying an "all polymer" personal defense weapon. But I put 100 rounds through it today and I'm happy with it. No issues, very light recoil, accurate, and well made... The online review videos were correct. Hard to find fault with it for $500 out the door.

Looking good!

Thats a nice sight, I've had the older Sparc II on a 10-22 for years, they're great.👍

Have you torn it down to look for worn parts yet?

I cleaned it for the first time this afternoon. It wasn't hard to disassemble. Pull one pin and the upper comes off. The bolt was a little dirty as was the barrel. I pulled the firing pin and extractor and cleaned those areas well. Was really easy to clean and nothing looked at all worn. This is with no lubrication...they say it doesn't need to be lubed. I'm pretty sure I could go 1000 rounds between cleanings, but I'll probably stick with 500 round increments. I'm thoroughly impressed with my polymer "pistol"...

First Rate! Good for you. PSA has the sub 2K for more than $ 500. Even as a KT fan that is such a better deal.
I have a gen 3 Sub2000 and really enjoy it. But the EP9 is a better gun. My Sub2000 was about $350 when I bought it and it is a fun gun too. I also have a CZ Scorpion Carbine that I love. But it was over $1100 when I bought it, so not a fair comparison. The EP9 has exceeded my expectations and I thought it would be a really good gun.

i am glad you got somethings that really works for you. Sometimes it doesn't go that way. You must also bear the guilt of make me add another gun to my wish list.

Update: 1200 rounds without a hiccup! Haven't ever lubed it per Extar instructions and haven't cleaned it since the 500 round mark. Going back to the range tomorrow for another 200 rounds. This thing is too much fun...
