Hi guys, coming over from the muzzleloading fourm

been living in central florida basically my whole life, and I enjoy blackpowder shooting, hunting with said blackpowder weapons, reenacting, fishing, sewing, etc
really pleased to be on this forum and hope i can learn a lot here

Welcome Traditions .32 crocket is on my to get list. Already have a .36 Pietta 1851 navy. Looks like you will bring a lot of good info and experience to the smoke polers here. Remember, please help me and post pics as my lips get tired when I read a lot.

Welcome! Is your '77 an original? I've got a thing for smoothbores, have dragged my repop long land over many miles of Florida, but haven't gotten within range of anything yet.

Since you're from the muzzleloading forum, the first thing I can teach you is;
There are no guns or muzzleloaders that are
" unmentionable " and ridiculous religious terms like " abomination & blasphemy " need to get left where you go on Sunday & never ever brought into a gun or hunting group & applied to everything that isn't a authentic flintlocks or smoothbore. That kinda ridiculous crap is rampant in that forum & I hope it never gets brought into here. I'm in modern muzzleloader & we tolerate ZERO of that crap in there. If you're not one of those very closed minded guys dressed up like Davey Crocket, wonderful!

I might dress up as crockett once in a while but I'm never close minded. I always thought that unmentionables term was ridiculous

No it's an Indian made gun (yeah ik the reputation these get) but I've reworked it to be quite a beauty, and she smacks hogs down too

That looks sweet! My Bess is an Indian gun also, just couldn't shell out the green stuff for a pedersoli. Here's some pictures of it on a hunt last year, up on Saint Vincent island NWR.

I don't think you can call yourself Florida Air gunner and then not talk about which air guns you own. PCP? Co2, Springer? or one of these. Thanks, will be interesting to see. Reenactments. Seminole wars?

Oh yes, my username carried over from my gateway to airguns forum account.

I dont own any pcps, have a few co2 pistols and a few gamo break barrels, but my most prized airgun is a german made Diana 34 (not the Chinese made ems version) in .177 that I hunt squirrels rabbits and coons with.

At my high school, im the captain of the shooting team and we use pcp crosman challengers for competition. I scored 242/300 last national postal competition for standing kneeling and prone combined which put me at like top 22% nationally

As for reenactments, I do ACW reenacting but am more interested in 18th century stuff at st augustine

Usually I use paper cartridges (100 grains 3f and a .648 ball). They seem to be more accurate than PRB for my gun. Paper plate or smaller at 50 yards is typical
Nice, my Bess is .75ish, likes a .690 ball in a greased denim patch over 100 gr. FF, with similar results. Of course, it shoots about 2 ft to the left at 50 yds, so you can't forget to take that into consideration.

Congrats on the shooting success. I guess my Diana is a Chinese one, how do you make sure you get a German one? I had to look it up, very nice. Is it the model that determines where they are made?
